Announcing an Event: The Path to Self Expression Starts with Writing
Let's get unstuck with an amazing guest to guide us
It’s a new year with the same economic storms, workplace pressures, and maddening stuckness. It’s been hard to tune into my intuition and express my thoughts, emotions, and perspective with clarity. If you’re feeling the same, why not get unstuck together?
On February 5th, I’m co-hosting, “The Path to Self Expression Starts with Writing,” a 75-minute online workshop for anyone working in corporate or tech environments (can also include startup, civic, agency, academic, or nonprofit contexts within the tech field) at any stage of your writing journey. (Beginners welcome!) Learn how to express your perspective on urgent topics, break out of boxes you’ve been placed in, and leverage your knowledge and experience toward broader changes in the industry and the world.
I’ll be joined by friend and fellow writer, Barrak Alzaid. Barrak is a Queer Muslim Arab + American writer whose writing extends across memoir, poetry, art criticism, speculative fiction and visual art. Throughout his career as a curator, artist, educator, and writer, he has used writing to address the systemic issues impacting minoritized people. And, over the last two years, he has helped me carve my own path of self expression through writing, which has opened doors I didn’t know were possible. Barrak and I will be hosting an Instagram Live on Friday, January 27 to share more details about this event and the role of writing in reclaiming our self expression. You can follow us on Instagram @laurencza and @barrakstar to watch.
